Help with Preaching
Archbishop John Wilson has just become the chair of the recently formed Catholic Association of Preachers (CAP) which has been set up to help Catholic priests and deacons to preach better. To this end it will be providing training days led by experts in homiletics and communication. It will provide homiletic resources as well as linking priests and deacons with universities and institutes which offer courses in preaching. It will also offer assistance to lay ministers who have been officially commissioned to conduct funerals or other services.

The Catholic Association of Preachers works alongside the College of Preachers, an ecumenical network of preachers that has a shared belief that good preaching matters. CAP also seeks to establish links with the US based Catholic Association of Teachers of Homiletics (CATH) and other international bodies sharing its aims.
